The Sheboygan Red Skins and Waterloo Hawks both claimed the championship because they were each in first in their divisions at the end of the season, but they never met in a playoff series, due to demise of the league.
The 1951 Grand Rapids Hornets, coached by Bobby McDermott (1-4) and Blackie Towery (2-3) and George Glamack (3-6), missed the playoffs after finishing the NPBL regular season in 7th place in the Eastern Division with a 6-13 record.
