After 87 years of baseball at Tigers Stadium's famous location on Michigan and Trumbull Avenues the Tigers played their last game on September 27th. With a sellout crowd of 43,356 fans the Tigers introduced 63 of their greatest players in an on field ceremony, which left no dry eyes in the house. The Tigers would go on to win the 6,783rd and final game at the old stadium 8-2 over the Royals, with Catcher Robert Fick hitting the final HR in the 8th inning of the roof in RF. However, it would be another year of disappointment as the team finished in 3rd place, with a 69-92 record.
