The Denver Broncos have a new head coach in Nathaniel Hackett and their former coach, Vic Fangio, is now a candidate for another head coach opening. - Fangio, who was fired by the Broncos at the end of the 2021 season, recently interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ job, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. - Jaguars general manger Trent Baalke served as the San Francisco 49ers’ GM from 2011-2016, overlapping with Fangio’s tenure as San Francisco’s defensive coordinator (2011-2014). - Fangio signed with Denver in 2019 as a first-time head coach with an impressive defensive resume. As expected, the Broncos’ defense played very well under Fangio, but the team’s offense struggled and Denver’s overall record of 19-30 over three years wasn’t good enough for Fangio to keep the position. - He’s now a candidate to get another shot as a head coach, and if Fangio doesn’t land in Jacksonville, he will undoutbtedly be a notable candidate for any team seeking a new defensive coordinator this offseason. - - List - - One free agent each NFL team should want to sign in 2022 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Email - - - - - Sign up - - - - - - - - Like this article? - Sign up for the Broncos Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning - - - - An error has occured - - - Please re-enter your email address. - - - - - - Thanks for signing up! - - - You'll now receive the top Broncos Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.
