The 1886 Montreal Winter Carnival was cancelled due to a smallpox epidemic in Montreal. The Burlington Coasting Club proposed a winter carnival for the city of Burlington, Vermont as a rival attraction to the Montreal Winter Carnival. The results on this page are from the replacement carnival.
