Wily Peralta, a right-handed pitcher from the Dominican Republic, began his Major League Baseball career with the Milwaukee Brewers. Signed as an amateur free agent in 2005, Peralta worked his way through the Brewers' minor league system, showcasing his potential as a starting pitcher. He made his MLB debut on April 22, 2012, against the Colorado Rockies, marking the beginning of his journey in the major leagues.

Peralta's first full season in the majors came in 2013, when he became a regular part of the Brewers' starting rotation. That year, he pitched in 32 games, posting an ERA of 4.37 and recording 11 wins. His performance showed promise, and he quickly became a fixture in the Brewers' rotation. The following year, 2014, was a standout season for Peralta. He achieved a career-high 17 wins, finishing with a 3.53 ERA and 154 strikeouts over 198.2 innings pitched. This performance helped the Brewers remain competitive in the National League Central division.

Injuries, however, began to affect Peralta's career in subsequent seasons. In 2015, he was limited to 20 starts due to an oblique injury, which impacted his effectiveness on the mound. Despite these setbacks, he managed to finish the season with a 4.72 ERA. The 2016 season saw Peralta struggle with consistency, leading to a demotion to the minor leagues for a portion of the year. He returned to the Brewers later in the season, ending the year with a 4.86 ERA in 23 starts.

Peralta's tenure with the Brewers concluded in 2017, a challenging year where he transitioned to a bullpen role. He appeared in 19 games, including eight starts, and finished with a 7.85 ERA. Following the season, the Brewers designated him for assignment, and he elected free agency.

In 2018, Peralta signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals. He began the season in the minors but was called up to the majors in June. The Royals utilized him primarily as a reliever, and he found some success in this role. Over 37 appearances, he recorded a 3.67 ERA and even notched 14 saves, showcasing his ability to adapt to a new role on the pitching staff.

Peralta continued with the Royals in 2019, but his performance dipped, resulting in a 5.80 ERA over 42 games. He became a free agent after the season and did not pitch in the majors during the 2020 season. In 2021, Peralta signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers. He was called up in June and returned to a starting role, making 18 starts for the Tigers. He finished the season with a 3.07 ERA, demonstrating his ability to contribute as a starter once again.
