Tashaun Gipson, an undrafted free agent from the University of Wyoming, began his professional football journey when he signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2012. Despite not being selected in the NFL Draft, Gipson quickly demonstrated his abilities on the field, earning a spot on the Browns' roster. His rookie season saw him participating in 10 games, where he started in three, and he recorded his first career interception.

Gipson's role with the Browns expanded over the next few years. By the 2013 season, he had become a regular starter at the safety position. That year, he played in all 16 games and recorded five interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. His performance continued to improve, and in 2014, he was named to the Pro Bowl after leading the AFC with six interceptions, despite missing the last five games of the season due to a knee injury.

In 2016, Gipson signed a five-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. His tenure with the Jaguars was marked by consistent performances, particularly during the 2017 season when the team reached the AFC Championship Game. Gipson played a crucial role in the Jaguars' defense, which was one of the top-ranked units in the league that year. He started all 16 games and contributed to the team's success with four interceptions.

After three seasons with Jacksonville, Gipson was released in 2019 and subsequently signed with the Houston Texans. During his single season with the Texans, he continued to be a reliable presence in the secondary, starting 14 games and recording three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

In 2020, Gipson joined the Chicago Bears, where he reunited with former Jaguars defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano. Over two seasons with the Bears, Gipson remained a steady force in the defensive backfield. He started 16 games in 2020 and 12 games in 2021, adding four more interceptions to his career total.
