Ron Wotus's journey in professional baseball began when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 16th round of the 1979 MLB Draft. As an infielder, Wotus spent several years honing his skills in the minor leagues. He made his major league debut with the Pirates in 1983, appearing in a handful of games over two seasons.
