Kirk Rueter, affectionately known as "Woody," was a left-handed pitcher who made a name for himself in Major League Baseball primarily with the San Francisco Giants. Born on December 1, 1970, in Centralia, Illinois, Rueter's journey to the major leagues began when he was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 18th round of the 1991 MLB Draft.
