Kevyn Adams, a native of Washington, D.C., embarked on his professional hockey journey after being drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. However, it was with the Toronto Maple Leafs that he made his NHL debut during the 1997-1998 season. Adams played as a center, known for his defensive skills and ability to contribute in various situations on the ice.

After his stint with the Maple Leafs, Adams was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he continued to develop his game. His tenure with the Blue Jackets was followed by a move to the Florida Panthers, where he spent two seasons honing his skills and establishing himself as a reliable player.

In 2002, Adams joined the Carolina Hurricanes, a team with which he would experience one of the highlights of his career. During the 2005-2006 season, Adams played a crucial role in the Hurricanes' journey to winning the Stanley Cup. His performance in the playoffs was instrumental, and he was recognized for his leadership and ability to perform under pressure. The Stanley Cup victory was a defining moment in Adams' career, cementing his reputation as a valuable team player.

Following his success with the Hurricanes, Adams was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in 2007. His time with the Coyotes was relatively short, and he soon found himself with the Chicago Blackhawks. Although his playing time with the Blackhawks was limited, Adams continued to contribute both on and off the ice, providing veteran leadership to a young team.

After retiring from professional play, Adams transitioned into coaching and management roles. He served as an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres and later took on a position in the team's front office. In June 2020, Adams was named the general manager of the Buffalo Sabres, a role in which he was tasked with rebuilding the team and guiding them back to competitiveness in the NHL.
