Frank Pastore's journey in Major League Baseball began when he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1975 amateur draft. A right-handed pitcher, Pastore made his MLB debut with the Reds on April 4, 1979. His rookie season was promising, as he quickly established himself as a reliable starter in the Reds' rotation.
