Eric Fehr, a Canadian professional ice hockey player, spent a substantial portion of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on September 7, 1985, in Winkler, Manitoba, Fehr developed his skills in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Brandon Wheat Kings. His performance there caught the attention of NHL scouts, leading to his selection by the Washington Capitals as the 18th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Fehr's NHL debut came during the 2005-2006 season with the Capitals. Initially, he split his time between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL), where he played for the Hershey Bears, the Capitals' affiliate. His time in the AHL was marked by a Calder Cup victory in 2006, which helped him hone his skills and prepare for a more permanent role in the NHL.

By the 2007-2008 season, Fehr had secured a more consistent spot on the Capitals' roster. Known for his size and scoring ability, he played primarily as a right winger. Over the next few seasons, Fehr became a reliable presence on the ice, contributing to the Capitals' offensive depth. One of his memorable performances came during the 2010 Winter Classic, where he scored two goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins, helping the Capitals secure a victory in the outdoor game.

In 2011, Fehr was traded to the Winnipeg Jets, marking a return to his home province of Manitoba. However, his time with the Jets was marred by injuries, limiting his impact on the team. After one season, he returned to the Capitals in 2012, where he continued to play until 2015. During his second stint with Washington, Fehr provided valuable experience and depth, contributing both offensively and defensively.

Fehr's career took another turn when he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2015. His tenure with the Penguins was highlighted by winning the Stanley Cup in 2016. Although he played a more limited role, his veteran presence and ability to perform in crucial moments were assets to the team. Fehr's time with the Penguins also included a brief stint with their AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, as he worked to maintain his form and fitness.

In 2017, Fehr was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he played a handful of games before being loaned to the San Diego Gulls, the AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. The following year, he signed with the Minnesota Wild, where he played his final NHL season. Fehr's career in the NHL concluded with a brief return to the AHL, playing for the Iowa Wild.

After leaving the NHL, Fehr continued his professional career overseas, joining Genève-Servette HC in the Swiss National League. His international experience added another chapter to his hockey journey, allowing him to continue playing at a competitive level while experiencing a different hockey culture.
