Our Boys' Baseball Rules
1877 - 1878
The small soft-cover volume, titled Our Boys Base Ball Rules for 1877, features the official rules of the game as adopted by the newly formed National League. The significance of this book is that it provides period information regarding the National League's 1876 inaugural season, including scores and both fielding and batting statistics. A section of the book is also devoted to the records of the top amateur clubs. The last few pages feature advertising for Peck & Snyder's line of baseball uniforms and accessories, including color plates.
