This book is the official score book for the 1894-1895 basketball league at the International Y.M.C.A. Training School, now Springfield College. The league consisted of 7 teams and they played games every Friday. Dr. Luther Gulick was a regular umpire and Dr. James Naismith was a regular secretary for the league and would record the statistics. It contains the complete box scores for many of the games played. The box scores are made up of only three statistical categories: free throws, field goals, and fouls. On the first few pages, the official rules of Basketball are listed. The league was created more to promote physical activity rather than competitive play, however bragging rights were always at stake.
