The Tri-State Basketball League was formed in Wilmington, in part due to the great response of the public to the new Eastern Basketball League team in that city. The Wilmington Blue Devils franchise was led by future Hall of Famer John "Honey" Russell. Although suggestions were often heard regarding a merger with the Eastern Basket Ball League, the Tri-State Basketball League simply could not compete with the economic conditions in the country. The league folded after its first season.
I sincerely appreciate the research work, and the information being shared. It is important and interesting history.
