By the 1940 season, the league cofranchises remained consistent for the remainer of the league's existance. There were now 6 teams total, located in Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Newark, and two teams in New York. The Homestead Grays were the undisputed champions of the league, so no postseason playoff was scheduled,
