Recap
The NHL got back to four teams. The Quebec Bulldogs, which held a charter membership, finally decided to put a team on the ice and the Toronto team, under new ownership and now called the Bulldogs, was back.
Although the league played a split season, there was no playoff because Ottawa won both halves, going 9-3 in the first half and 10-2 in the second. In the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, the first-place Seattle Metropolitans won a two-game, total-goals series over the Vancouver Millionaires to advance into the Stanley Cup championship series.
Ottawa won the first two games of the best-of-five series, but Seattle came right back with two wins. The Senators took the fifth game easily.
The first three games of the series were played on Ottawa's rink. Then unseasonably warm weather arrived and the final two were played on artificial ice in Toronto.
