The Quebec Bulldogs, after just one season of actually playing in the NHL, became the Hamilton Tigers in the league's first franchise move.
The Ottawa Senators won the first half of the split season but Toronto won the second half. Clint Benedict of Ottawa came up with two shutouts in the two-game, total-goals series for the league championship.
In the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, the Vancouver Millionaires finished just a point ahead of the Seattle Metropolitans during the regular season, but they won both playoff games easily, 7-0 and 6-2.
The Stanley Cup series was played in Vancouver, with the teams again alternating between PCHA and NHL rules. Ottawa won a tough five-game series that averaged more than 10,000 fans per game, a very sizeable attendance figure for the time.
